Microfilm Services

Ensure the retention of your critical documents for compliance and business continuity
CriticalControl has decades of experience providing archival microfilming services in our facilities across Canada. We provide customers with full computer output microfilm (COM), source document microfilming (SDM), storage, equipment, supplies, maintenance and other archival solutions.
Hundreds of organizations trust CriticalControl with their vital information. Our facilities, equipment, experienced staff, project management and quality assurance processes ensure our ability to deliver the highest degree of speed and accuracy for our customers. Our work processes are dedicated first and foremost to the maintenance of security and confidentiality of customer documents and materials in our safekeeping.
We are also a certified Kodak Image Guard Microfilm Processing Lab. This program certifies that our processing laboratory meets all internal and external quality requirements — including document authenticity, microfilm legibility, and long-term archival properties — on a monthly basis.
As a long term archival solution, microfilm services are especially important for documents of significant historical and archival value. Our Kodak Image Guard Program provides for disaster recovery of microfilm when disaster related damage occurs. This includes film restoration damaged in fires, floods, and other disasters.
CriticalControl Microfilm Services:
We provide all 16mm and 35mm microfilming services including filming, duplication, microfilm jacketing and COM services, and have Kodak MRD-2 microfilm cameras that are specifically designed to microfilm newspapers.
- Computer Output to Microfilm (COM) is a cost-effective and long-lasting solution for information storage needs. A single sheet of microfiche can hold up to 270 pages of computer output and, when stored properly, has a life expectancy of more than 500 years. COM can be read with relatively inexpensive viewers - or even a light and a magnifying glass - which means it can be easily distributed, without any concerns for hardware compatibility.
- Source Document Microfilm (SDM) provides for the conversion of your original paper documents to microfilm. We offer 16mm conversion of documents up to 18" x 23" and 35mm services for engineering and architectural drawings up to E size originals.
- Microfilm Reprints Whether standard size office documents or 18" x 24" engineering reproductions, we can provide a quick and cost effective solution to your printing microfilm requirements.
