Best described as a “flight simulator”, PipeTrainer gives operators at any level of experience the opportunity to learn. Using a mocked-up or true off-line SCADA interface, the simulation is completely realistic in appearance, enabling students to train on both day-to-day operations and study situations that do not normally occur, including emergency situations.

When used in conjunction with other PipeWorks modules, PipeTrainer can read the shared database to simulate current operations. While there is no impact on the physical pipeline, PipeTrainer is able to accurately calculate and demonstrate the results of the trainee’s actions and provide a tool by which instructors can score ability and progress under various scenarios. Lessons and exercises can employ predefined events, and once the student has mastered a particular situation, the instructor can alter the events to complicate an exercise.
