CRITICALCONTROL ENHANCES PIPEWORKS AND PENETRATES MARKET

CriticalControl Solutions, (“CriticalControl” or the “Company”) (TSX Venture: CCZ) is pleased to announce new enhancements to its flagship information management tool for pipeline operations, PipeWorks. In response to current threats to pipeline operations increasing from primarily leak ruptures to sabotage, content theft and terrorism, CriticalControl, under the leadership of Dr. Mike Yoon, a distinguished hydraulics specialist, has completed the development and testing of an enhanced leak detection and location algorithm making use of CriticalControl's research into statistical modeling. Enhanced 'robust and reliable' leak detection and location will be integrated into the PipeWorks suite and simultaneously launched under CriticalControl's LeakWarn brand as LeakWarn Plus.

PipeWorks is a suite of information management modules used to operate pipelines. In addition to leak detection, or the PipeWorks LeakWarn module, PipeWorks is comprised of PipeScheduler and PipeTrainer.

Courier companies revolutionized the courier industry by allowing customers to know where their package is and when it is scheduled to arrive. Similarly, batch tracking functionality of LeakWarn enables operators to know exactly where batches are, eliminating the requirement of a physical presence at the receiving end of a pipeline waiting for product to arrive. PipeScheduler takes this raw data and arms operators and schedulers with a flexible tool to balance batches and delivery requirements to ensure efficient operations. CriticalControl is enhancing PipeScheduler by launching a batch planning module to determine optimum efficiency in multi product lines using research being completed at CriticalControl under the leadership of Dr. Steven Vermeulen. Power consumption alone for large pipelines can run into the hundreds of millions of dollars, and by optimizing batch planning, pipeline companies can reduce power consumption upwards of 5%.

PipeTrainer provides pipeline companies with an invaluable tool to train pipeline operators. Given the current trend towards litigation arising from recent pipeline ruptures in the United States and potential liability thereon being aggravated due to operator error during pipeline rupture, it is imperative pipeline companies provide adequate training to operators. Using a similar model to the method used by flight simulators to train pilots, PipeTrainer simulates potential failures of a pipeline in order to teach proper operator response.

CriticalControl has already achieved market acceptance of PipeWorks through implementations of its product modules at a number of companies including Imperial Oil, PetroCanada, Petronet (South Africa), Buckeye Pipeline, Petrobras (Brazil), Sunoco Pipeline and Nova Chemicals. In addition to current implementations at Transpetro (Brazil), Explorer Pipeline and Gas Authority of India, CriticalControl will establish solid market penetration through completion of its contracted implementation of PipeWorks at the largest integrated oil and gas company in the world by the end of this year.
